Itinerary
Your trip starts when you meet your driver guide at menara international airport who will take you to your riad inside the city of marrakech.We will take you in a guided tour of Marrakech "the Red City of Morocco”. Your guide will ensure that you see all the sites with historical and cultural interest, including the Koutoubia Mosque ; the Saadian tombs; the beautiful Palace of Bahia the only royal palace open to public in Morocco. Afterwards, we will walk through the medina alleys -getting a chance to admire all of the different artisans performing their crafts before arriving at the famous Jamaa El Fna. Square. ( Overnight in Marrakech )
You will passe through old berber mud villages and over the Tizi n Tichka Pass, at altitude 2,260 meters to reach Telouet Kasbah which was the birthplace of the high Atlas mountain's most powerful family in the 19th century, the Glaoui family (from exterior only). Visit the spectacular UNESCO world heritage kasbat of Ait Benhaddou, which is one of the most eye-catching filming locations featured in Game of Thrones, Gladiator and more. After driving 14km you will reach the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) also considered as the gate of sahara desert .Then you will continue your trip through the "road of the thousand Kasbahs" to the town of Skoura. Here we will stop to visit the "Kasbah of Amridil". Discover the rose valley and Kalaat Mgouna, known as the rose’s Capital, then heading toward the captivating town of boumalen dades with its amazing rock formations known as the monkey fingers. On this day you will Head toward Todgha gorges known as a most spectacular canyon and has been used for several international movies such as the "Mummy". You will depart for the town of Arfoud which is consedered as the centre of one of the richest and most extensive fossil fields in the world .You will visit a local fossil craft workshop. The last destination on this day will be Merzouga Sahara desert . (overnight in Merzouga)
On this day you will continue exploring the sahara desert by learning more about the culture of the berber people .you will see berber farms and fields ,also underground water and irrigation system. discover "Flamingos Lake" which attracts many species of birds during spring like Falcons, desert Sparrows and many more. Heading towards the african village “khamlia”,an area famous for its Gnaoua singers, where you can listen to their beautifully spiritual music. Visit a nomadic Berber family, share a cup of tea with them and be enchanted by their lifestyle, their traditional tents and the harsh environment in which they live. Having lunch of Berber pizza which is a food specialty of the desert town of Merzouga (with a berber family if it is possible). You will be taken to your Morocco desert camp where you can take a camel ride into the sand dunes to watch the sun setting over the desert or relax at your camp. (overnight in Merzouga desert camp)
After having experienced a memorable 2 nights in the sahara, you will head to the town Rissani which is known for traditional markets and souks where are displayed gifts, spices crafts,local fresh produce and Moroccan sweet dates. Continue your journey towards Marrakech . The tour ends
